Hi everyone!  I haven't really posted much, but have been following along with you all for the last 6 months or so.  I met my surgeon, Dr. Reed, yesterday and was approved for gastric bypass on September 28th!  Getting excited now!

Yeah for you Sara!!!    I just left Guelph this AM.    They are lovely and your in great hands.     Get up and walk as soon as you can.   The more gas you get out the less pain you have.  Carry a pillow and hug your tummy when you sneeze, cough or burp.  Once youve passed gas and get your 1 L of water in your outta there.

Thanks for the advice!  I've had 2 C-sections so I know all about the pillow on the tummy business.  The good thing is that these incisions will be so much smaller :)

I'm having my surgery at Guelph, but am actually a patient of the Windsor clinic.  I live in Sarnia.  Got the referral from my family Dr. in March 2014 and my orientation was in May 2014.  Had all of my appointments in Windsor between June and October 2014.  Had my first sleep study last August and had to wait till December for the results!  It was ridiculous!  Found out then that I had sleep apnea and had to go for a second sleep study with a cpap machine in January and got the results 4 weeks after that.  Pre-surgery education class was in April 2015 and got a call from Guelph in mid-July for my surgeon consult.

Hope that helps!

Wow that darn sleep study eh! I've heard that can really slow things down I had my sleep study at the end of July and they said it would be 4 weeks for the results fingers crossed it won't slow things down! Glad to hear you finally got a date!
