Non Surgical Weight Loss

Wondering if anyone is opting for non-surgical weight loss options?I am scheduled for an orientation for the Optifast Program tomorrow and are hoping to find others who are using this program to "jumpstart"their weight loss.I have been told that I can still have Bariatric surgery after I have given a full 1 year commitment to the Optifast program, and if there are no medical issues that would prevent me having the surgery.I am not ready to consider surgery at this time, but want to keep my options open.I am hoping to connect with others who are choosing a non-surgical option to lose some of their weight.I hope this forum topic will be acceptable for support purposes.

I did the Optifast program through Ottawa WMC in 2002 and 2012 before having surgery earlier this year. While I did gain weight back after both times, I did gain valuable tools from the program (behaviour and diet) that are helping me through life post-op. (The positive thing about my second attempt is I didn't gain all the weight back before having surgery.)

I wish you well on whatever you decide...it's a big decision.

The wait time for surgery can be long -- 13 mos. for me. Why not consider signing up for the surgery programme while you are on Opti? You always have the option to decline surgery -- but you may find you are ready for it when the time comes.
