Have completed my program in Windsor and only awaiting to be cleared by bariatrition so that my chart and file can go to Guelph

i tested positive for hpyloric and with never having any gastric issues have continued to test positive after 3 tests

I have completed 2 agrressive cources of antibiotics and each time have come back positive.

Dont know if they will explore this further or ask for an endoscopy as it is related to gastric ulcers.

Totally healthy with no chronic issues

other than my obesity I've been very healthy .

has anyone had this experience. I've never had any gastric issues and have never had gastric issues in the past.

Would like to to kmow if anyone has had these issues or what the Dr. May do to correct or address this.

Hi bugs. I have been battling h-pylori for some six years. When it was first discovered, I took antibiotics for twenty days. We thought we got them critters. Then four years ago it started up again...only had to take breath tests to determine it was really there. Again with the antibiotics. Then almost two years ago, I started having problems keeping any foods down. Tested again but negative this time. Never had problems with my stomach before. Unfortunately something else happened to the mechanics of my stomach. I was a year and half only I taking liquids and still Vomitting six times a day. I had to have an RNY.  WHen I met with the surgeon, I immediately discussed this problem and requested he see for himself via grastroscopy and test the tissue in my stomach. Thank God, I did. He found no problems with the tissue, no ulcers and no h-pylori. Here's the catch....So we agree I can go ahead with the RNY. Two days before my surgery date, I get a call from the hospital stating my blood work shows h-pylori positive and that surgery may have to be cancelled. I immediately called the surgeon. I learned that once you have it, it will always show positive in your blood for life. The surgeon assured me that I could go through with the RNY and that he will explain on the records that I am really negative. So my friend, ask for gastroscopy in Guelph and preferably by the surgeon who is taking your case. You just maybe clear to go. Good Luck in getting the bugs out. And know that this can be all cleared up soon.

Referral - Feb/14, Orientation HRRH - September/14, Surgeon appt. & gastroscopy Dr. Hagen - October/14, Trio appts. - April/15, Dr. Glazer - April/15, Revision RNY - July 10, 2015

Thank you for your reply sorry for the delay as I've been crazy with work and never followed up on the site. I'm a trauma nurse so the medical stuff is not new to me. See my Dr and yes the next step is to get scoped and find out what is it that makes me remain positive.

I've completed all my follow up and just waiting for me to be clear so I can go to Guelph for the surgery. Buy they will not touch me unless I'm negative I can't have the surgery so I'm waiting for my scope and hope I have nothing serious as a lot of bad things can appear. So yes my head is up and plan to move forward and get it done so I can have my surgery. Your post was an inspiration to me as I'm thinking I'm alone in this baddle , it just shows me I'm not alone so thank you for your reply it very much helped.
