Morning all!

Morning all. Sorry CC you haven't been sleeping well. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Zizz, that sucks big time. Sorry that happened to you and don't let that dampen everything else in your life. When one door closes, another one opens and as they say, everything happens for a reason. Cheer up.

I had a good sleep last, almost 10hrs i got. Bad thing is my knee is stiff with all that. I'm trying to reduce the amount of T3 to just a dose at night, so far so good, hopefully i won't need it by the weekend. Just the dentist for me today to fix the chipped tooth.

Hi everyone,

My daughter was with me for a few days and things got busy so that's why I've been MIA.

CC, I second Roma's suggestion of melatonin; it really helps me get to sleep without feeling like poo the next day :)

Zizzler, I'm so sorry to hear about your work trouble. I had a similar situation today. My boss discouraged me from applying for a temporary secondment in another department and today I heard that a less-experienced colleague got it. I feel your pain... and it sucks!

B - protein shake

S1 - 1 oz cheese, 20 g wheat thins

L - Good Foods cranberry chicken salad

S2 - 1/2 c. cottage cheese

D - 2 oz sirloin, 1 c. baby lettuce, raspberry vinaigrette

S3 - key lime source yogurt

Betony it seems like Zizzler and you both got screwed because of someone else's agenda.  In all likelihood your boss knew you would get the position but didn't want to lose you.

I will give the Melatonin a try.  Thanks for the suggestion Betony and Roma.

Not sure if you are interested but I find listening to a guided meditation and relaxation really helpful to relax me enough to sleep.  I still get up early but often I can get back to sleep using the recording.  Just a thought, there are lots of free ones online, find one that you like and it could really help.  Good luck, I hope your sleep improves soon.

Thanks Zizzler.   I can usually fall asleep but wake up after a few hours. Using a tape to get back to sleep would be helpful.

Hey there, thanks for sharing your work story, it does suck! Sometimes life is just not fair.  I have just let it go, nothing I can do.

I was thinking a lot about your work situation today Zizzler. I think it is healthy and good not to dwell on the issue, but I wanted to advise you to document everything that has happened/is happening (times, dates, witnesses). This is just in case things come back up down the road, you'll have some backup. I once had a horribly toxic boss and documented everything in case I needed to defend myself down the road. I never used it, but always felt reassured that I had some backup just in case.

I hope things improve!

This is very good (realistic) advice, I agree.

Question before I get onto my day....What is this iced coffee protein snack of which people are speaking? It sounds great AND seems popular. I have been without coffee since May. except for one or two...my last one was July 4th and I love the flavour of coffee! Also what are the GNC popsicles? Thanks

So this week I have been great with excercise. The only things left to meet my weekly goal are a core and upper body workout. I was planning on going mountain biking this morning, but I got a flat last night and I need some tools and a tube to fix it.  I am also planning a romantic brisk walk with hubby tonight. Of course it will be brisk, so no hand holding. We will stop at timmie's for a refreshing water and some us time.

My meal plan for the day is:

B. 2 oz chicken, 1 egg, broccoli, sprinkle of cheese and salsa. (love you non-stick pans!)

S. Cheese string, 1/2 C steamed brussels sprouts (I am trying to learn to love them)

L. 1/2 can tuna, left over broccoli and brussels sprouts, 1 Tbs low fat mayo, 1/4 quinoa cooked in broth

S. 1 oz mixed nuts

D. 2 Oz Chicken, green beans and 1/4 C quinoa.

S. meh trying to avoid evening snacking, but 1 oikos pineapple greek yogourt, chia seeds and 1/4 berries (which ever ones look good at the store)

I am getting confused. the dietitian at the weight management clinic told me I need to eat 2-3 servigns of fruit per day and I was to choose something else other than mushrooms and cucumber to have with my hummus. Everyone here seems to be saying the opposite. Sigh. what do I do?

K.
