What are you eating/doing today (Saturday)
Good morning everyone. Sorry that I was MIA yesterday, let's just say that I had some BD celebrating to do. I'm OK with 2 posts if it works for others to be accountable in the evening, it's their journey and I support them. I probably wouldn't post much in the evening post because sometimes I find it hard just to get up, get sh*t done, and then post here. Some post on here late in the evening just because it works better with their schedule. I support this too, and try to come back and at least read their posts in the evening. It's all good.
Zizzler, HAPPY SURGIVERSARY. That's me shouting it from the mountain tops. Have a wonderful day at yoga and the market and watching your movie, Did you like the massage you had the other day. My foot massage yesterday was to die for, and she gave me lots of free spa samples (creams, lotions and potions). Pat enjoy the last day of the games and your scallops are making me hungry, mmmmm.
Today DH and I will continue to test drive cars and then he is taking me out for dinner.

thanks cc, I feel like I should be doing something special but honestly I just need a rest from work as I have to work on Sunday. I did not schedule another massage yet, totally forgot about it being my surgiversary until this morning and she was all booked up. I might get one next weekend instead. Omg I love the free samples they give, and foot massage sounds totally awesome and relaxing. Have you ever had a scalp massage? I literally fall asleep it is so relaxing. The smoothie bars sounds awesome, what are the nut stats like? I have never tried scallops but so many people have told me they are awesome. Enjoy!
Morning all. Tossed and turned last night, couldn't get comfy with the knee and was humid as well. Did manage to get a few zzz's but could use a nap. My knee is finally coming along nicely. I think it's stopped bleeding. I'll take the wrapping of later and see. It's still super swollen though but, can't complain, all part of healing.
Happy 1 yr Zizz. Time sure fly's eh. Keep going till the end. Glad you enjoyed your massage CC.
I bought some chicken yesterday and it will be the theme for the day
B - 3oz chicken breast
L - 3oz chicken breast
S - 1/3 cup tuna, cucumber
D - chicken thigh, 1/4 c up zucchini
S - chicken, 1/2 cup milk
Have a great day all, Nia
Thanks Nia, hope your swelling goes down soon. That is a lot of chicken for one day, do you not get sick of it? I am in gear to keep up the fight to get to my goal weight. I have 10 pounds until my 100lbs lost since surgery goal and I am determined to reach that. Hope you have an excellent day, it is humid here too, blahh!
Thanks Zizz. The ice is helping a lot. Yeah, that's a lot of chicken, lol. Funny enough, i don't tire of it. I'm glad i can tolerate chicken post op. That's what i ate most of for the first yr post op. Chicken, eggs and tuna, all the trouble foods.
Those last few pounds are the worst to get of. They take forever, well, for me it seemed like that. Those 10lbs will be gone before long.
Thanks new_me, I really hope those pounds are gone sooner rather than later. Chicken I find so super filling, I can only have a few bites and I am done, even now, not sure why. chicken skin still makes me feel nausea for some reason, its bizarre. Fried and boiled eggs still do not sit well, which is a shame because those are 2 great protein options, but what can you do? I have heard sometimes it gets better with time, so I will try them every month or so to get a status update on whether it is still the same. Is there anything you can't eat post-op that you used to enjoy?
You're right, chicken is super filling and i'll probably not finish what i put down or the sides. I don't do chicken skin. I remove all skin before cooking including the legs and back. I don't do the wings though, too much work to remove skin so, i give them to someone else to eat. I've mastered the art of cooking a juicy chicken breast so, i can eat the same breast over a few meals and it still stays moist. Since surgery and once i got all my issues resolved, I can tolerate ANYTHING. Eggs are no problem no matter which way they are made. I mostly eat scrambled with a slice of cheese as it's faster for me to make but, boiled, fried are no problem.
I have tried all the foods from post op and i find i can tolerate them but, i cannot do a lot of grease or too much sugar anymore. I get the runs like no ones business. I'm still trying to find a balance but, as they say, the further you go out, the harder it is as bad habits start creeping back in. One day at a time. As for the eggs, i've read that it might take time for others to tolerate certain foods. Give it a try later on and see how that goes.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Yes I had pizza for breakfast, made it myself and it was good. I made 2, and decided to have the other one for lunch . So I thought I better have a dinner that was mostly protein.
B- 1 mini pizza made on a Josephs mini pita, 1tbsp pizza sauce, 1 turkey bite sliced up, 20gr cheese, and about a tablespoon chopped red pepper and green onion......mmm
L- same as above
D- 3 oz chicken breast, half cup green beans, 2 tbsp salsa.
S- syntrax fuzzy naval shake
myfitnesspal totals: calories 666, carbs 30, fat 26, protein 86.
Enjoy the weekend, bye for now
