Hello everyone, 5 days after surgery trying to figure out how much food I should be eating, learning my we stomach signs and listening to them.  Having a bit of a hard time with all the vitamins but hanging on.

Trying to figure out what foods I can eat or not! But so far I am hanging strong and can't wait to see my results day by day..

That's all you can do is keep plugging away each day.  I will tell you what people told me........it gets easier!!!!  Its quite a learning curve in the beginning and it seems no two people are exactly the same.  Just follow your plan, and ask questions when in doubt.  You are on Day 5----and I just started Week 5.    You've got a great positive attitude--- I wish you the best!

Hey There;

I am on day 5 as well and am in the same boat as you. yesterday I started the protein shakes and with the pills, liquid medicine and water I was not sure how I was going to get it all down. Today it's really hot and although I'm trying to increase my water intake, it's giving me some grief as I feel so bloated....  I have tried a little bit of apple sauce as I have one pill I have to grind up and it went down fine.

you sound like you are doing awesome - keep up the good work!!!

It definitely gets easier and is such a learning curve. I am currently on pureed and find everything is trial and error.

Congrats!  I was feeling the exact same about 10 days ago.  I went through TWH and I've been following their guidelines as best I can.  It got easier as time went on.  I keep my 1/4 and 1/3 of a cup measuring cups and a tablespoon on the counter and ready to go.  It takes me a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to eat a 1/4 cup of cream of wheat (plus an extra 1/4 cup lactose free milk and a touch of brown sugar splenda).  1 teaspoon at a time.  :)  I have a 1/3 of a cup of a Premier Protein chocolate shake and I tend to swallow the stool softener (good times) and that pretty pink/black pill with it.  Chew my vitamins like candy.  Thankfully they taste good.  It's a process.  lol.  But I sit and catch up on the news and just take my time.  I haven't had any problems (knock on wood).

Cream of mushroom and tomato soup - both the light kind have been pretty good.  Yogurt and applesauce are great for mixing in the tablespoon of unflavoured or vanilla flavoured protein powder.  Sugar free jello pudding with protein powder is yummy.  I have a large water bottle that I fill every morning, add some crystal light to it, and keep sipping every few minutes.  That thing goes everywhere with me.  I really miss chugging water but a few sips do add up.

Don't know if that helps at all.  You can totally do this.  You survived Opti... lol.  Hang in there!

I am so glad to hear that things will be better as time goes on, one thing that I am going through right now is that every time I eat, I think I am going to gain weight and over eat!

I know it's my mind trying to adjust to this new way, but the fear to gain weight is always there..

I was just saying this to a friend today.  So many diets, following them to a T, only to end up with yet another failure.  I have to keep reminding myself that I am losing weight.  That this is working.  This will work.  Failure isn't going to happen in 2 or 3 months.  The surgery has given us the edge that we've needed.  I think the fear to gain weight isn't a bad thing really.  I plan on using that keep motivated.  We deserve this!

Thank you, you are so right we deserve this!!! so many years of putting on weight and finding nothing that will help you until now! the fear will be a reminder for me that I never want to be like this again!
