weight loss after one year?

Getting close to my one year, wondering whether people have continued to lose after a year?  I still have 19 lbs until I am of normal bmi, my ultimate goal and 25 until my super ultimate goal weight.  Am I dreaming to think I can reach this goal at this point or has my time come and gone?

Thanks Pat for the encouragement.  I almost feel like I am addicted to the rush from losing weight and sort of fear not having that feeling of accomplishment.  Anyone else relate to this?  I feel like the "magic" is gone or almost gone, and I will miss that feeling.

When you hit your goal it will feel awesome and you will have such a sense of accomplishment. Maintenance is harder and the settling into the day to day routine can be challenging. Continue to enjoy the rush we have earned it

Congrats on your success so far

My one year was in May and I am still loosing. Wishing I would stop. The Ottawa clinic goal for me was range of 180-210.  My weight start of opti was 306 and surgery weight was 286. I'm currently at 152. My own goal was 270. They told me would loose up to 18 month then would maintain after that, but now I am close to when I was in high school of 145.

Do you mean 170 for your goal?  It is hard that you can't stop it when you want, feel sort of powerless eh?  I know my body will decide when it is done losing but I just would like to be done with it and stabilize and stop all the clothing shopping etc.

Oops yes meant 170. Yes same here. Wish I could just maintain,as seems like all time needed to buy new clothes

I had my one year appt a few weeks ago.  I've lost just over 100 and I have about 15 to go to get to my goal.  I've already met the clinic's goal and my weightloss has slowed down to about 3 pounds a month.  They told me i could keep eating the way I am (about 1000 cals a day) and stay pretty much where I am, or get really tight on my calories, eating about 150/day fewer than I am now and that would help me keep losing.  I'm also increasing my exercise so hopefully I'll be able to get to my goal.  I feel pretty good about where I am and how I look. I know that improving my muscle tone at this point will be what makes the difference in how I look and how I feel but I am a zillion times happier and healthier than I was 13 months ago!!

That is great news, my one year spot is next week, I will ask what they recommend to keep losing, glad to hear it's still possible.
