I will be 6 years out in November and they want you to walk. I came home on a Friday and Monday I started to walk outside. I did not go far just did the street 3 times a day for the first few days than i went around the block. I did the block twice a day and than I just started to longer and longer with the dog. As for the Cottage ask your doctor and see how you feel. No one can say go or not to go. We have no idea on how the operation will go.

Thank you to everybody *****plied - lots of great suggestions and a common theme, be safe and wait for the lake which is the path we're going to take! With respect to my daily walks, I'll be happy when I get back to the 8k, but for now I'll be satisfied with just getting through tomorrow and starting fresh!

Cheers;

Bob

I'm a year out Oct 7th. As for walking...you are gonna have to work your way back up to what you are at now. You are going to be tired at first and have to try to stay on a schedule for eating/sipping fir the first few weeks.  I would forgo the cottage until you are back on a regular diet. And if you need to a hospital you definately want to get to were you had your surgery!! Good luck!!

Hi Bob.. Just wanted to wish you luck today. 4.5 years post-op and wouldn't change a thing. Glad you're staying near home, just in case. Your. Outage sounds lovely and maybe wait a week or so. Walking will just be your pace and I'm curious to know how long it does take to get to that pace. Of course you will end up being faster, so your pace won't even be the same. I get faster with training and it still makes me laugh to think that I'm a runner, when I didn't even walk regularly before. Update us when you can!
