Surgery on 11th, Dr Glazer tomorrow
Not much at all. He needs to see you and go through your history so he can report to anestheologist. I will warn you he is really big on people suffering sleep apnea. If you are fine sleeping throughout the night then make sure to tell him you only wake up to go to bathroom because of the opti fast. If you do have sleep apnea, then he needs to know. the nurse will take cardio readout and blood pressure and after you will go in and see him. Will not take long in his office. Make sure to ask him how fast reports will be on file with the anestheologist and surgeon. Good to have a report sent to family Dr if you have one. Your health history, any problems with heart, lungs or veins. He is the guy that puts the rubber stamp of approval to go ahead with the surgery. I found him delightful. And I was happy to see he stopped by my room after surgery. The wait will be like an hr and half. If you are parking in hospital parking lot be ready to spend like $16 for parking.

Well saw Dr Glazer, seemed nice enough but asked me why I hadn't seen him before, what? Huh? tried numerous times to see this guy felt like a stalker and if it wasn't for the fact I lucked out with my surgery appointment I would not have the pleasure of his company until September 30. He spoke very fast, made sure I knew it's major surgery and that 1 in 500 die? Really, does he actually think that after spending a lifetime fighting our weight that a decision to do such an operation was taken lightly? Sorry folks but I am sure that most if not all of us have done our share of homework. Had to vent, sorry!
I'm glad you vented. I agree with you whole heartily. He does talk fast and he iactually enjoys quick comebacks. I happen to tell him that I have been wanting the revision to gastric bypass for two years because I was not going to live much longer if I did not get this revision. Long story but I let him know exactly why I was going to professionals like him. So that all reports would be correct and all precautions would be taken so that I would not be a fatality. He was impressed and behaved himself. Why we didn't go see him earlier....because you can't make an appointment until a Dr refers U.S. To him....dash What a strange duck he is, but we need his stamp of approval.
