Dr Hagen at HRRH
So I found or my surgeon is Dr Hagen. I've read up on him and he seems like a great surgeon. Anyone on here have experiences with him? Anyone recently book ur surgery date with him? I know HRRH is quite far behind and he wait is brutal right now. Some surgeries (Dr Starr I've heard so far) are now being booked into February 2016. Really hoping Dr Hagen isn't booking that far away. Regardless I guess it's just more time to prepare and make my body healthy and strong for surgery. I was so.hsppy to finally get my 1st apt and fi d out who my surgeon is. Thanks in advance for any info.
Dr. Hagen was my surgeon as well, over 9 years ago. lol He truly is a gifted surgeon and incredibly kind - you're in excellent hands.

I have Dr Hagen. I had RNY revision on jJuly 10. If you want a list of people who had him and all of us did our homework. I prefer him over Dr Klein. Dr. Hagen wins awards every year from the university of Toronto. He is especially known for his understanding and kindness. He had to work really hard on me. I had a gastric stapling in 1989 and over the twenty five years suffered with Vomitting and acid reflux. Dr Hagen worked through my scar tissue and actually had to pry my liver and pancreas from my stomach. I am doing great. His dedication and great demeanour is unmatched by any other surgeon I have met. His work mortality rate is the best, from my studies in the entire city. I found him in Sep of 2014 but I had to quit smoking for at least six months. So in oct I requested he do a gastroscopy so he can see first hand what to look for from the inside. I made arrangements to have a recent Ct scan sent to him so he can see the outside of my stomach. He has listened to me all the way. He was so proud of me when he saw me for first visit last week. I am doing great. In April, I saw the internal Dr. Glazer for approval to proceed and it seems booking were done three months. You will need to opti fast two or three weeks prior to surgery. I have been to see five bariatric surgeons in Toronto and none compare to him. next Wed night is a round the table discussion with those that have had surgery and those waiting to have surgery. Come in, you are welcome if you are registered.
Hello,
Nice to hear from someone who is going through this the same time as me. My apt with Dr Hagen is August 11th please let me know how it goes and what to expect I'm starting to get a bit nervous lol. It was such a quick conversation with the secretary that booked my apt I completely forgot to ask if I need to come early for paper work or if I should be prepared for blood work. Unfortunately I haven't had any calls returned when I called to ask these questions. Goodluck tomorrow it's definitely an exciting time.
