Opti Day 2 - salt craving.

Only on day 2 of Opti - so far so good.  Not hungry at all.  I am missing something crunchy to eat and/or something salty.  I've got my chicken broth - meh.  I'll try beef next.  A few batches of sugar free jello in the fridge as a treat.  I know the salt craving is normal and expected - I'm sure in 2 or 3 days it'll be gone.

A couple of questions.  Any suggestions for something to satisfy this salty craving?

Also - anyone used these products?  They're Canadian and make zero calories, fat, carbs or sugar foods/sauces etc.

Thanks in advance!  Cheers - Lisa

pretty sure the salt craving is because you're not drinking enough water and dehydrated perhaps.   Drink lots of water between the optifast.

No suggestions other than broth for the salt craving - unless you're allowed veggies, then some vinegar on them often can satisfy the salt craving.

You don't say which "these products" you're referring to - ? If you're talking about Walden Farms products, OMG disgusting is all I can say about them. lol

Not sure if you are allowed that list of green veggies on your OPTI plan,  but I got pretty excited to crunch cucumber I cut into long spears. :). Most people say cravings for things diminish after day 3-4 --so you are nearly there!!

I have been allowed dark green leafy veggies. Stuck with spinach and broccoli cooked. I wasn't told I couldn't have salt and pepper. I have been using it.

I can't believe you're not hungry! As you know we both started on Tuesday, but I have the pleasure of an extra week tacked on for me.

my biggest struggle is that I am working as a nanny this summer and have to cook the kids 3 meals a day. It's hard for me to remember not to sample a few bites while cooking or cleaning up.  And I am peeing even more than usual! Up at night a couple of times, and I took the kids to indoor volleyball (panam) games and had to use the bathroom a billion times. The kids thought something was wrong w me!

I am going to make some home made jello. A friend has great recipes (coffee jello cubes!). I am definetly wanting something savoury.

you have totally got this. Two days down eleven more to go!

I know I know!

this is my friend Kat's blog-here are links for some of her hello recipes that we would have to tweak to make them preop appropriate-

The latte gummies towards the middle of the page are looking mighty delicious!

I'm not sure I could stomach these, not gonna lie. LOL

I am curious though - the latte gummies you referred to contain coconut milk - pretty sure that's not on your pre-op plan?
