Home from hospital today
At this point I'm able to ge****er in, having a hard time with the choc premiere shake ( maybe 4oz) I used the liquid calcium added the vit D to that, the b12 dissolves - but I'm scared to take the prenatal vit. I crushed one tried to put it in applesauce and the taste was so horrible I couldn't swallow it. I cut one in three pieces and I just look at how sharp they look and I'm scared to try to swallow them. How big is too big to swallow? What worked for you???
My Centre didn't worry too much about vitamins and the protein numbers in the first two weeks. They know it is hard to get them all in. Just work really hard on getting your fluids goal as that will help with combating tiredness and healing.

Did they not suggest chew-able multi-vitamin? What centre are you out of? I'm out of TWH and was advised that for the first 6 weeks I should have chew-able multi-vitamins and calcium +D soft chews. They want you off those after 6 weeks and onto the prenatal but I think you're fine to get the chew-able right now, no gummies though just chewable adult mulch-vitamin and calcium soft chews. Although with all the talk of taste buds changing I fear the ones I have now that taste fine might be gross after surgery.
Congrats on joining everyone on the bench :)
Thanks Meowface-- I went back through my handouts and did find that they suggest Centrum 50+ soft chews. That will be a big help. From all the meds and the liquid pain medicine it just made me feel sick. I'm soo over tired and overwhelmed right now I think I just need some sleep and start fresh tomorrow on my official day 1. Here I thought I was prepared. I guess things seem simple on paper until it becomes reality- and you realize its really hard to do what they ask of you and kinda scary, but like everyone seems to say..... It gets easier day by day. ( I went thru hamilton )
It gets easier I promise :)
Just try to get all of your water and protein in, when possible. Good luck and happy healing!

Thanks Seyenna -- I feel better all ready after clearing my head, getting some much needed sleep and getting better organized. Just working on some applesauce/protein right now. I know for sure I need to be taking my vitamins this week ( wasn't sure for a bit there) and I will be grabbing some calcium and multi's that are chewable for this first little while to cut down on the numerous pills. Have a great day :)
