Well, if that's the case then forget it. It was my first time seeing them and I thought she said the nutrition was the same as shakes.....but it's not worth it if they're high in carbs etc.

I don't want to sacrifice nutrients. I just wanted to eat more protein, so like you said once in a while maybe but not regular for sure!!

Thanks!

I just can't find the nutritional info for the ones with 30 g. I sent them a tweet. I am not interested if the nutrition isn't the same as the shakes like Karen said, I should have paid more attention at the sample table but it was crowded.

I have found when I use protein bars I either stalled while in the losing phase or get terrible cravings for sweets in the maintenance phase.  I will take a bar to the movie theatre the odd time as a treat, but as Karen said, the carbs are too high (almost my daily intake).  I have found that brands of bars other than Quest give me gastro/intestinal issues because of the sweeteners used in them.  I do use shakes daily (personal preference) at 3 years post op and found them convenient as a new post-op .  I'd toss a single serving of powder in a ziploc baggie and one of those blender cups in my purse/bag and just purchase a cold bottle of water to mix it together where ever I was.

Thx Blulz....I won't bother if they're higher. I like the premier shakes but when they were sampling these ones yesterday I tried them. Something tells me these are a newer version of the old bars b/c they were def 30 g of protein. Just waiting on the other info.

The stats for each flavour is on their website.  Click this then click on nutritional info under the pick of the bar and it will bring it up.  You can check each one but they are all very similar in stats.

Got it, thanks!

Looks like it is "Pure Protein" that has better numbers than "Premier Protein". Maybe that is why i will stick with "Combat Crunch"-as they have the decency to pick a moniker that is a wee bit different!

This is why picking a protein bar can be so confusing...

Actually the Pure has worse numbers than the Premier if you compare the two bars on an equal playing field.  No bars are good, they are all just glorified chocolate bars with some protein powder thrown in. They are for emergencies only in my opinion.  I'd sooner grab a latte and get more protein and less calories, than I do from any of them since you could never eat a whole one anyway.
