Update on my Opti Journey, so far......

So I am on Day #3 and overall it hasn't been that bad.

-I am down 5 lbs since Monday.

-I am only able to get 3 shakes in opposed to 4 and have a call into TWH to find out if this is okay or not. If it isn't, then I will force the 4th shake down.

-I haven't been hungry very much. I usually have to make myself eat without feeling hungry because I just never feel like eating.

-I have enjoyed broth, sf jello, sf freezies but I am already finding myself getting pretty sick of them all.

-I have been getting in about 96 oz of water per day in addition to my shakes.

-I have the Opti Trots which are not fun.

-My pee is now clear when I go instead of being bright yellow before.

-I have come up with different flavour combinations for my Opti which have helped:

Choco-Berry - Chocolate Optifast with a raspberry shot.

Cotton Candy - Vanilla Opti with a raspberry shot (Starbucks has a Cotton Candy Frapp and they use vanilla bean and raspberry, so lets pretend this works)

Peppermint Paddy - Chocolate Opti with a peppermint paddy shot.

Tropical Breeze - Vanilla Opti with a banana and coconut shot.

Ferrero Rocher - Chocolate Opti with a hazelnut shot.

That is what I have done so far and it has helped.  They don't taste as awful as some think. I do blend them with water, ice and the syrups in my bullet and it is super smooth. If I don't feel in the mood to drink them, I literally just chug it down but this morning I found myself savouring my shake which I thought was super odd!

Anyways, a couple of questions for those who have done Opti:

1. Did you feel weak a lot?

2. Did you get a headache?

3. Did you feel cold?

These are things I am experiencing right now.

Thanks!

Opti sure is a journey! You're doing great and all of that is pretty normal. Opti is not a fun phase, that's for sure but hang in there!

To answer your questions; yes yes and yes. Get used to feeling cold!

Hi Melly you're doing so great!  Give yourself a pat on the back!  And your water intake is amazing!

I did feel weak but it passed after about 10 days for me.  I had a headache the whole time I was on Opti - but I think that was more caffeine withdrawal rather than the Opti as I switched to decaf while on it.  I felt cold too and I stopped sweating so much so that was a bonus.  Now that I am 5 months out and down 80 pounds I am cold all the time haha.  As for the Opti trots - I got them in week 2 of Opti and it wasn't fun.  I was in Shoppers Drug Mart at the time they first hit and I had to throw the purchases I was planning on getting over to my hubby and high tail it out of there to a Starbucks nearby.  The women's was in use so I ducked into the men's.  I can laugh about it now but at the time it was terrible.

I could only get two in per day.
