Surgery date

I had my surgeon appt today with Dr Reed out of Guelph   It went well, my surgery date for RNY is September 17/15 and I only need 1 week of optifast. I'm very excited, make room for me on the bench I'll be there soon. 

Congratulations.  That is so exciting.  I just had my orientation meeting yesterday and am so hoping I get the go ahead from the team to have the surgery.  I know I have a long road ahead and many assessments before I get to post a surgery date but it is so nice to be here on this forum with people in the same boat and who have already walked the path.  Please keep us informed of how it goes for you.

Hi, I am new to the forum, I have my orientation next week and Im super excited.  From your experience - What is the time from orientation date to scheduled surgery.  Does anyone know the average length of time?  Thanks so much in advance :)

I am still pre-op and haven't been on this forum very long. But, my obesity specialist Told me the wait averages 1-2 years in Ontario. It depends on the hospital you end up with, resources, etc. my timeline has been a bit faster than others. But I don't have a surgery date yet. For all I know I will get some lag built in there. It's hard to say. 😄 Like most people, I'm using this time to learn more about how life will change after surgery and begin making changes now.
