What are you eating/doing today (Friday)
Afternoon all. Happy Friday and it's a bit nippy out there.
Well, i decided to go ahead with the surgery as my knee seems a bit more unstable. Almost fell the other day when it gave way whilst i was doing dishes. The doc told me we are looking at Sept/Oct dates. Hopefully i can have it done before school starts.
Also, i've been struggling lately thinking about sweets. Anything yummy was always my cryptonite before surgery and it seems to be creeping back in. When i have those urges, i try to occupy myself by doing something, laundry, reading something but, it's usually hits late at night when i can't go out for a walk. I usually ignore it but, i've given in a few times this month and i don't like it. It doesn't help that my niece has cake and stuff left over from her graduation. I hadn't given into temptation for 18 months and could resist sugar that whole time without blinking an eyelid but now, it's a struggle. I know for sure i don't dump which is scary. I'm stronger than this and I will win the war. Maybe I should have a day a month when i can have a treat so i will not be tempted all the time. What do you guys think?
B - pumpkin protein mug cake (my usual pancake mix, just put it in a mug, very good)
L - 2 sliced turkey breast, 1/2 oz cheddar lettuce in 1/2 flat out
S - other half of lunch
D - sausage and peppers, asparagus
S - Tea, half mackerel from yesterday
Totals: 796 cals, 42 carbs, 30 fats, 70 protein
Have a great day all, Nia :)
Re. the one day a month idea - unfortunately I'm too much of an "all or nothing" thinker to do that. One day a month would turn into two, and before you know it I'd be doing it weekly. lol

I hear you Karen. I just have to find the "sweet" spot and see what works for me. What annoys me is, i've been good this whole time, not even tempted now it seems i can't control myself. I just have to buckle down and say NO MEANS NO!!! and remember my size med clothes i like so much. Wish me luck. I might call my docs office where they have mindful eating sessions.
Finding that the cravings and temptations eventually come back can be unsettling. The good thing is that you've realized it before jumping back into old habits as those old habits truly do die hard. Mindful eating sessions could be really useful and I'm glad you're thinking along those lines. I always say that I "eat mindfully" (I only wish those types of programs were available to me years ago) - I don't obsess about food, but am constantly mindful of what I'm choosing to put in my mouth. I hope you find mindful eating sessions near you. I also know people who attended "Craving Change" sessions and found that useful.

I think I read on the bottle that they're "low lactose", so hopefully they don't bother you. And I hope you still like them after surgery, our tastes often change. lol
