TWH Support Group meeting?

Hey gang,

When does TWH typically have their support group night?

1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month  the 1st is a group discussion and 3rd Wednesday is presentation style usually with a guest speaker.   think if I remember last July they cancelled them due to vacations and holidays and the first Wednesday this year is actually Canada Day so I am pretty sure that won't be a meeting night

Hi Helna I have only been to one group support meeting, which occurs on the first Wednesday of every month.  It is divided into two groups - one group is 1 year post op or less and the second group is more than one year post op.  There are a couple of facilitators in each group to guide the discussions.

Then the third Wednesday of every month there is a theme.  Stuff such as body image, etc. where they often have a guest speaker.

When you go the group there is an optional sign in sheet where you can sign in and add your email address in order to be sent email reminders for the support groups.

Not sure what they are doing for July since the first Wednesday falls on Canada Day but if you call the clinic I am sure they will be able to tell you.  Here is their website:  http://twhbari-care.org/3c-support-groups/

They are usually held on the 6th Floor, Fell Pavilion, Room 103 I think.

Yes, and they also said something at the last meeting about cancelling a date or two because of the PAN AM Games. I wish they would send a monthly email with all the information so we could be up to date. 

They always SAY they send out emails but I've gone probably 7 or 8 times and never gotten an email despite asking every time to PLEASE add me to the list. Ugh. Get it together guys!

Ditto! I've gone three times and signed up but have never gotten anything. Maybe someone from TWH will read this thread and get on it :)

There are July meetings but they are the 2 & 4th Wednesday of July as the first is Canada day. There are no matting in August.

Maybe they could use their Twitter account to update people on meetings rather than email? 

From this past meeting I believe they announced the meetings for July are the 8th and 15th with no meetings in August. Quite honestly, I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention at this point so perhaps anyone else that was there can chime in.

Appreciate the updates re: August meetings. The 3rd Wednesday in August was going to be the first I would be able to attend. I am at TWH for my 6 month appointments that day (I have to travel several hours to get to Toronto...).
