Congratulations!!! I am not Canadian but I am definitely going to have a panniculectomy eventually. I love hearing about people being happy afterwards.

Hoping when you finding get to see everything sans bandages and drains, that it all meets with your approval.  I am sure it will.

Highest weight - 440 lbs, Surgery weight - 395 lbs, Current weight - 291 lbs.

Hi, I am glad that you are happy with the results so far, wait to you completely heal.  I had my doctor refer me to a plastic surgeon and he said ohip will not pay for a panniculectomy.  I have lost 120 pounds and have kept it off for almost two years now.  Can you please tell me how you got it covered, and maybe do only certain surgeons do it.   I was so disappointed when i was told no.

Thank you for any advice or information you can give me.  And hoping you have a speedy recovery

Did you read the thread? She said she used Dr. Haney, a general surgeon. Good luck.

Plastic surgeons will not accept ohip funding because they make more doing private work. Do some research and find a general surgeon that will do the procedure through ohip funding however ensure that the surgeon explains what exactly he/she is going to do so you don't look like ground beef coming off the table. ummm.... general surgeons also don't do lipo or any kind of muscle repair, it is beneficial to work your buns off at the gym if you want any kind of form. With the removal the tighter your muscle the better the results and the more definition you will have. umm... you won't have abs but a flat tummy. I have posted photos in my profile check them out...
