What are you eating/doing today? (Saturday)
Good morning everyone! I posted the recipe for pumpkin nut squares on the recipe page under "snacks" in case anyone is interested. They turned out quite nice, I still have some pumpkin so I might try making a batch today with cocoa powder and protein powder added. I will let you know how that turns out.
I am up early this morning but may take a nap this afternoon if needed. I have a yoga class this morning, then I am going to hit vv boutique and Costco, then GNC for those banana shakes, then the farmer's market for some fresh local stuff. Still have not sanded down my wood counters, so that is a possibility for later on as well as cleaning house and some weeding. Lots of possibilities.

Edited to add: I tried adding 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 6 tbsp. protein powder to the recipe and it turned out fantastic, I like it even more than the first batch. Plus more protein. Only thing to be aware of with this recipe is that it can be a bit higher in fat and calories due to the nuts. But for me it is so filling it is self-limiting. So happy to have found a recipe to make my own protein bars at home. Hurrah!
Hey there! Love the farmers market, especially the local strawberries, omg. Only problem is all I want to eat is strawberries so I end up not eating protein. lol Your menu looks super high in protein. Only thing I would caution about it to make sure you are getting enough fibre. I find low carb veggies like cucumber really help with that, or Metamucil caplets, or restoralax. Anyways, you might not even have any issues with that, but just something to think about. What are you getting at the farmer's market?
That was hilarious. Sandy sent me a message that read something like, "Ummm.. grandkids???" and I was totally confused 'til she told me it was on the lightweights board - somewhere I definitely never posted, or belonged for that matter. lol

Just returned from the YMCA, day 2 of my goal to go every day, or at least a few times a week lol. I'm generally not one to crawl out of bed unless it's REALLY important. My health feels important enough, so I went.
b - chocolate protein shake
s - deviled egg
l - not sure yet, chicken salad maybe
s - source yogurt
d - I have a port roast in the crock pot

That is awesome about going to the YMCA Seyenna. I go to goodlife myself and have been struggling to get in 2 workouts a week lately. Not sure why, but I am doing more activity such as gardening and walking, so maybe it all balances out eh? What do you put on your crockpot roast? How long do you cook it? I have a couple of pork roasts in my freezer I need to make and am looking for ideas. Have a great rest of you day!
