Feelings before Surgery?

Maybe it is because I don't actually have a date for my surgery yet (I should on Friday) but I am surprisingly so calm about having surgery. I am not scared or nervous, I just want to get it over with.  Did anyone else feel like this?

I felt the same way! That's how I knew I had made the right decision. The only time I felt nervous (mixed with excitement) was when they were wheeling me to the operating room.

Referral: May 2014 / Surgery: February 2015 Dr. Jackson TWH

I was extremely calm and surprised because I've had a few surgeries in my life for other issues, but I wasn't nervous at all!  I pictured my dogs running through the snow (it was Feb) as they were putting me under.  When I woke up, I saw a big sunrise - the sun was rising on my new life!  I was even exited in the recovery room - I think I drove them nuts.  Never felt so good after surgery!  No gas pains, just a dry throat and mouth, so I kept asking for ice chips!

Wish I would have done this sooner, but I'm taking advantage of this "tool" and loving life (and shopping!)

I was calm leading up to surgery. My husband was a bundle of nerves, as was my mom...I spent the night before and morning of surgery calming them down. When you are comfortable with the decision and you know it is right for you, it's a very peaceful feeling. I knew I was in good hands.

i was the same way, my mom was a complete mess and even the nurse and everyone commented on how calm i was.  It was just my time and i was so ready.  tomorrow is day six and i just got home from Toronto a few hours ago.  i live in northern ontario and was required to stay close to toronto for a few days after in case of complications. :)

Same as everyone else so far, no nervousness. I think I just wanted it over. My best friend admitted to me later on that she cried when I went in surgery, she was more scared than I.
