Morning all. Nice and gloomy out there, good to have a lay in. I'm like you Zizz, my eyes pop open at exactly 6:15am everyday no matter what time i go to bed. Somedays i'm able to go back to sleep after i eat around 8am but the weekends i can't so, i just stay up and find something to do. Looks like you had too much fun at the b'day party, lol. That's ok, you live and learn.

Barb, i'm glad you had fun with your friends, hope you guys have many more yrs to enjoy each other and CC, what a great achievement to enjoy the outdoors and have fun too, glad you enjoyed it. I, on the other hand was naughty yesterday. There was a box of corn muffin mix that had been in the pantry for the last 3yrs and my niece said she wanted to try some so, i made it for her and i used a can of cream corn. OMG!!! why did i do that? Those little suckers were so FREAKING GOOD, i regretted making them. I did limit myself and had to stop after a couple of the muffins but, that's all i could think about for the rest of the night lol. I don't retreat eating them, they were very delicious  and i learned that i have more will power than i thought i had (does that count as an NSV?) I still managed to stay within my limits and made protein goals but, THEY WERE GOOOOOD!!!

The bday party was fun, despite me getting sick near the end.  I love being able to chase after the little ones again, I feel like I did 15 years ago, amazing.

Its so funny, I was never like that pre-op, I could sleep in until 10/11am not problem, could never get enough sleep, probably the moderate to severe sleep apnea.  I am the same way, if there is something junky/carby in the house I am attracted to it like a magnet.  I do not keep any wheat flour in my house for that reason, just almond and coconut flour, flax meat, oat bran, chickpea flour.  I keep them in the freezer so they last, they are way more expensive than regular flour so I hate to waste them.  That reminds me, I need to make some more protein oats for snacks this week.  I like to use oat bran instead of oatmeal and toast the nuts I add, makes it more yummy.  What kind of pork rinds do you eat usually?  I can only find baken-ets at the store but have not tried them post-op.  Do you find you can only eat a few due to the higher fat content?  I am like that with some things now, unlike before.

I hear you on the running around. I can't keep still to save my life these days and besides if i sit too long, my butt hurts. Too bad my right knee has hampered a lot of my exercise and mobility as i feel like running everyday but, i can't . Can only walk short periods and distance.

I eat the baken-ets as well as those are the only ones that seem/look decent. The Chinese/ethnic stores have different versions but, i haven't tried them. I eat half a serving which is about 4 rinds and i find them really filling with tuna or chicken. I realized that too much fat affects me as well and if i eat more carbs and sugar than i usually eat, i get real tired and jittery. These little corn muffins had that effect on me, darn them. They are out of my house as i'm giving my niece the last of them for school tomorrow.

What is going on with your knee? Did you injure it?  I too have right knee pain but it is 90% better now that I'm lighter.  Still feel it if I stand too long sometimes. I am going to try pork rinds with tuna or chicken, I have never tried that combo, thanks.

I slipped in a grocery store and have a torn meniscus which i don't think is healing at all because i have to use my legs to walk and such, lol. It gives way sometimes and even walking out on the uneven roads hurts after a certain time. I have a brace that i wear and have been to physical therapy but, none has helped so far.

Yup good combo tuna/chicken salad with rinds

I have felt that pain and it really sucks.  The only thing that helped was to try to stay off it as much as possible, which is hard because walking is usually necessary to do stuff.  Sometimes an ice pack on the area with the pain would help too, many nights I slept with an ice pack under my knee, it was the only way to dull the pain.  My pain is behind my right knee, where is yours?

Staying off ones feet is really hard to do, i hear you. I've iced my knee and it helps with the inflammation but not the pain. I was supposed to alternate it with heat but, it won't tolerate it. Initially it was just pain on the outside of my right knee. Now both inside and outside hurts like the dickens. I was told i have bilateral tears on the knee and they have got worse, that's why the surgeon wants to shave them before they get anymore worse.
