The dreaded hair loss has begun!! Help...
Hair loss is pretty much inevitable after a major surgery due to the shock/trauma to the body. It's a condition call telogen effluvium - *LINK*. Drinking water is great for the body, but lack of fluids isn't causing your hair loss.

No, it's telogen effluvium and it'll last for a good few months at least. And then it stops and your hair grows back. I gave you a link, but also if you put "hair loss after surgery" into the search here on OH (little magnifying glass) I'm sure you'll get hundreds of posts about it.

Ya just gotta tough it out. I'd bet you are going to be the only one who notices, everyone is going to be pre-occupied with observing your ever changing body.
Welcome to the club...consider it a rite of passage. If you look at most people's notes on here it usually lasts about 3-4 months then will start filling in. Think it of a great opportunity to get a new hairstyle
Hi Tbeau I am just over 4 months out from surgery and my hair loss has started too. I actually had long hair before surgery (February 4 and 6) and in late January I cut it short. Now I have been cutting it shorter regularly and currently am sporting a pixie cut. I would recommend to you cutting your hair short if it isn't already and getting some product (pommade, mousse, gel) to put in it to help manipulate your hair and to help cover any sparse patches which is what I have been doing. Good luck and remember, this is temporary. Your hair will come back.
