Hi Nia

Are you still losing?  It just doesn't seem you eat very much as you are at goal.  I know it can be tough and I am not advocating going way up.  But maybe add a few hundred calories and see how you are?  Good luck at the hospital today

Hi Barb. Yes i'm still losing and no i don't eat enough. I really want to stop losing now as i think i look to gaunt. I really have been much better at eating than before and have been able to up my calories now for a while. I'm working my way up 1000, added 2% milk everyday, use regular as opposed to low fat and have worked out a schedule to eat every 2-3hrs since i think quantity wise, i'm still unable to eat like i should at this stage but, i'm ok with that. Sometimes i think it's mental and i fear regain so i tend subconsciously stay low calorie and then tell myself not to be silly after i see my totals are really low. This is harder than i thought.

Nia it sounds like you are going through the brain stuff that is so difficult after surgery.  I find that is the hardest part by far, because everything changes so fast.  Would drinking more calories be helpful if eating is providing enough calories?  Maybe like a smoothie?

Thanks zizz. I've been adding more liquid calories lately. Yesterday i made a protein shake and was so full and bloated, lol. I make my teas with milk and make more effort to have something more regularly. I'm still in the trial and error phase. I'm sure i'll figure it out soon.

Referral to Guelph Feb/13, Sleep study and all bloodwork and ultrasound May/13, orientation July/13. Nurse, NUT,SW Sept/13, 2nd NUT, nurse and SW, 3rd round and cleared for surgery Dec/13. Pre-op Apr 7/14, Surgeon May 2/14, Opti Jul 3/14, surgery Jul 17/14.

Thanks CC but, after i got to the hosp, i was told the Dr's office made a mistake and my appt is not until next month, lol. I wasn't mad or anything, at least i got a good walk out of it.

Morning

I really slept in this morning.  I had a long day yesterday and I guess it just got to me.  Got rained on at the football game last night but I still managed to stuff one beer and a bag of BBQ chips down my throat......and I enjoyed every bite and sip!  However it is different this far out.  Its just knowing that it can only be an occasional thing.

STEPS - 6678...spent too much time commuting in and out of Toronto.  I don't know how people do that every day.  Brutal

EATS

B - Premier protein shake

    couple of coffees

 

L - 3 oz grilled langostino's

    1 cup of quinoa salad

 

D  - 6 oz chicken cordon bleu

     few asparagus spears

    2 small red skinned potatoes

 

S - Jello pudding with cool whip

 

MYFITNESSPAL totals for the above menu are:  Calories - 1,027,  Carbs - 92 Grams,  Fat - 25 Grams,  Protein - 88 grams

 

All water and vits

Morning all,

Yesterday I stopped at Costco on my way home from the gym, (spent way too much) but I picked up the Famous Roasted Chicken Salad. When I was at the checkout, the lady behind me was looking at it, asked me what is was. Told her roasted chicken salad and that I heard it was really good. The cashier pipes up and says, " when we stopped carrying it , customers nearly rioted until we brought it back" LOL!

And I must say it is very good! Thanks ladies for sharing the chicken salad info lol

Just work on this yucky rainy day, and an eye appointment.

B 1 sl ww toast w/ peanut butter, protein coffee, sm banana

S greek yogurt w/ blueberries

L 1/2 c Costco chicken salad wrapped in a lettuce leaf, few chunks of watermelon

D same as lunch

S greek yogurt

I keep picking it up and putting it back.  Worried that I won't be able to eat it all and also have no idea what nutritional value is and question if I should just make it myself?  I wonder how we could find out the NUT value in a scoop?

Hello all I'm new here had my final apt with dr Klien today and got a surgery date of aug 19 th :-)
