Very happy to be attending a pre-surgery class tomorrow in Ottawa.  Any insights into what to expect? My husband is going to come along as the extra set of eyes and ears in case I miss something. So pleased that this journey is moving along.

Hi, I'm glad to hear that things are moving along for you. That is very exciting. I haven't done the pre-surgery class so I can't comment on that but I had a question for you if that's okay? A lot of people on here are talking about their dietitian and behaviorist appointments. I haven't been told to do anything other thanto journal for three weeks before I visit the dietitian. I wasn't told to go any particular diet or make sure I have enough of this or that. Any suggestions on what to do? I want to make sure I am as prepared as possible so I do not have to repeat any appointments. Do you mind sharing how long after your behavior is a dietitian appointment your next appointment was? Thanks and I hope that someone on here can answer your question!

I visited the dietician twice and the behaviourist 3 times. I don't recall exactly how much time in between but it wasn't long.  Journaling helped me and the dietician to get a good understanding of eating patterns. I set some goals at the first appointment and reported on progress at the next. Also, they give you excellent resource notes to help you make changes and healthy food choices.  The focus is more on changing behaviour than on a diet per se. All the best as you continue this journey.
