Hi everyone, I am new to this forum but not to WLS. I had Gastric Bypass surgery almost a year and a half ago. I have had no issues until now. I am going to my clinic tomorrow to see my surgeon as they suspect it could be an ulcer. Does anyone know what kind of treatment they do for ulcers? Any information you can give me would be very much appreciated. Kind of scared. Thank you in advance.

I am just about nine months out from RNY and got an ulcer in my forth month.  I had a scope done to confirm and see the severity of it.  I was put on pantaloc right away twice a day.  Saw a change in the way I felt after a good week of being on it and I am going in this Friday for my follow up scope...to see how it is healing.  It will also make a difference to whether I can cut back to one a day for ulcer med.  better to have it looked at and stay on top of it cause if it progresses with out intervention it can be worse.  Best of luck with it.

I found out that I had an ulcer last September.  I had a scope, then was prescribed pantaloc 2x per day and suclofrate 4x per day. My ulcer went away. So did the meds

I recently found out that it has come back. I am now back only meds.

No need to be scared. Just a little glitch in your journey. Get it looked after, do what they tell you.  You'll be ok ;-)
