Any suggestions for ensuring my kids will stop worrying?
I too have 3 children. 2 boys 21 and just turned 20. My daughter is 17. She was the one that was very concerned when I had my surgery in Feb 2014. (Boys never say much lol) The night before she told me that I didn't need to have the surgery because there was nothing wrong with me the way I was. She told me I was beautiful etc. I explained to her that everything would be ok, that I was doing this to help me get healthier. That is wasn't about how I looked. It broke my heart...but I don't regret my decision. I don't think she does either. She's always telling people now that I wear her clothes lol....maybe her shirts...but not the pants....she wears a size 0

Some ideas....
Find a good website for them to read about the RNY process. Then sit down and talk to them about it.
Take them with you to the appts...this may help ease their minds.
Acknowledge their fears, don't brush them aside. Let them know their are risks but the surgeons know what they are doing and that a whole team of professionals are there to follow thru with you.
Be honest!!!
