So a month ago I had my surgery. I was told that the beginning of the weight loss would be slow. But so far I have lost only 10 pounds after surgery is thing normal? I'm not sure at what pace I should be losing at.

Hmmm... well, I think 10 pounds is great.  That equates to 2.5 pounds per week. If you keep this up for a year, you will have lost 120 pounds. I know sometimes we really, REALLY hope (wish, pray, beg if necessary) that the weight will fly right off in an instant, but I always reminded myself of this: I didn't put the weight on in a month, I'm sure as hell not gonna lose it in a month either. Just hang in there, great things to come! :)

I'm not sure what your starting weight was, but it seems that I'm averaging 4.4 lbs a week and I'm a heavy weight. The first month you're full of fluids, healing, and your body seems reluctant to lose anything - at least mine definitely did. Chin up, follow the program and the weight loss will come.
