Guelph Hospital vs St. Joe's?

After being approved, the 1st surgeon appt was 6 weeks, then surgery was booked for a month out! Everything was perfect.

I had my surgery in Guelph with Dr. Reed and the staff at the clinic and the hospital are wonderful.  My referral date from my family physician was April 2, 2014 and my surgery date was April 13, 2015.  At times it seems like the whole process is moving very slowly, but each step of the process is for a reason.  Good luck.

The timeline for Guelph is much shorter than Hamilton.  I went 9 months from referral to surgery.  Guelph Bariatric Group on Facebook has many people who have switched from Hamilton because of the insane wait there.

I'm feeling pretty good now that I'm home and sleeping in my own bed.  Guelph Bariatric group is the name on Facebook.  Great group there!

Sorry, that should say orientation to surgery, not referral.  With referral, it was about a year.

I had surgery in Hamilton (live in Mississauga) and had a very, very good experience except my first surgery was cancelled at the last minute.  That can happen anywhere.  Staff were fabulous and all rooms were semi on surgery floor.
