Protein question please & thanks!
After Optifast I couldn't deal with shakes or protein powders. I did the Premiere shakes for a couple of weeks ****il I could transition to real food) and ever since I've been getting my protein through foods. It took awhile to build up to the correct amounts, but I used fat free greek yogurt and cottage cheese to help get it in. I know this won't work for everyone, I was very lucky and tolerated a lot of foods very early on.
Bulk Barn is a good place to try a variety of protein powders/mixes because they normally have a decent selection and you can just try a little at a time.
Best of luck in your journey! And it DOES get easier. :)

Thank you :)
It is my goal to ultimately get all my protein in with real food. I see that Pat does it on the "What are you eating today" threads! I am so done with supplements. I just fear slowing down my healing if I don't get enough in at this stage.
I did buy Unjury Chicken Soup Flavour protein powder and at 21g per 8oz water serving it's good, but just not every day.
I've started eating a lot of tuna with a bit of low fat mayo mixed in to make it soft and smooth. I eat Greek yogurt and chicken breast. Mini Babybel cheese has up to 8 grams of protein depending on the kind you buy. I only have to drink the protein shakes like every couple days now. Most days I can get my minimum 60 grams in by just eating. I'm 10 weeks now. Some days when I'm short I'll drink like half a protein shake to get me where I need to be. Half a shake is 15 grams so often it's enough to put me over my 60 grams. Good-Luck

Thanks for your reply.
I am tolerating foods well and not having any lactose issues with dairy. I've been having Tuna, Mini Babybel, Laughing Cow, Greek Yougurt, and Cottage Cheese as staples.
Had my 1st egg last night (scrambled) & it was wonderful!
It's great to get so many replies and points of view/opinions.
GNC carries a "non-milky" type of drink powder in fruit flavours that are clear once mixed with water. They taste much like kool-aid or crystal light. The product name is Revolution Nutrition Splash whey isolate and comes in grape, orange, blue raspberry and watermelon. 24 g of Protein and 6 g of carbs.
