Good morning!  I have been reading the "what are you eating/doing today" posts daily since September 2014 when I first started considering WLS.  You have all been so inspiring and I thank you for that.  I will try to pre-plan my meals and post daily.  Any input on my menu, positive or negative, would be appreciated.  I am trying to up my daily calories to 800 as per my dietician's orders, but I'm finding it difficult to.

I wor****il 3 today then home to walk the dog.

Welcome to the thread Christine!

I think your menu looks terrific and your possible snacks also. What did she suggest you increase your daily calories with?

Thanks Karen!

I was only eating 2oz of protein(meat or fish) for lunch and dinner and she told me to try to increase to 3oz, which I have.  Do you have any other suggestions?

With getting all my water in and my 3 meals, I find myself feeling full most of the day.  I'm wondering if the full feeling is more psychological than physical as I am so afraid to make a mistake or fail.  I've heard from a few post-op patients that once they increased their caloric intake a bit, their weight started going down.  Any thoughts on this?

I'm with Barb on this - I don't see the need to deliberately add calories as your daily menu looks just right to me. Increasing a protein serving by an ounce is fine and certainly helps some with your daily protein goal. Over time your ability to take more in naturally increases, not sure I'd pu**** just for the calorie number. I never counted calories, just protein and carbs - protein over 75g, carbs between 30-35 g in the losing phase.

Thanks Barb and Karen!  I will continue to do what I am and if I do feel a little hungry, I will have a protein snack.  Thanks for the reassurance!

I totally agree with Karen (and Barb). There will be time enough to increase your calories, and your menu looks great. Eventually you will be able to eat more without struggling to do it. And then you'll be remembering the good old days when you weren't hungry. Haha.

I really wouldn't worry about raising my calories at this point - it will likely happen automatically as you can consume more - then of course you have to watch you dont consume too much!  I didnt get above 800 until close to goal.
