My First Race
People DNF (Did Not Finish) all the time. Also, some people sign up for races, and don't show up. Everyone is listed who pays, whether they show u*****t.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

I am so happy for you - I know how it feels to accomplish something you never thought would happen pre surgery.
Another note - I wouldn't worry about the running aspect - especially if your knees are weak. Power walking may take longer but you burn fat and build some muscles from the movement anyway. All good things and with less stress on the joints and bones
I do love the power walking no doubt but there are times which I'm just not moving fast enough and I start running without thinking about it, so I assumed it would just be a natural progression. But even if I am never a runner I know that I love the power walking and the adrenaline it builds.
I've been sick for a couple days and just not getting my routine and I am missing it like crazy!
