In in case it helps (not trying to side rail the original post), for a person starting at 300 lbs, average weight loss is 60-90 lbs (20-30%). Some people more, some less. 50% is extremely uncommon. I often wonder if those people are more likely to regain a bit as their metabolism settles out.
Again important question is what has changed and what can be done.
Interesting way to look at it. I am 6.5 years out and have lost and kept off 200 pounds. My starting weight was 340 so I lost 59% of my starting weight.
I am not an anomaly.

Congrats on your success! Statistically you are though, very much so. I'm sure you've worked hard to get there, and more so to stay there.
Interestingly at a conference I went to a few years ago, they were talking about this very subject. One doctor called out another publicly for exactly what I'm saying, setting the average person up for unrealistic expectations. You tend to get over-representation of the lower and upper ends of the curve on these forums.
Well, according to the "new math", I'm also a 59%-er. ;)
