I have gained 80 pounds back???????????????
Hi, I am so upset with myself. Disappointed with myself. I failed. I was doing so well in the first 2 years. Now 4 years later I have gained 80 pounds. I know some people might think this is a dumb question but I would like to get a revision done. I have an appointment with the surgeon.
Did anyone have this done?
I'm sorry I can't answer your question as I just had my surgery in January and am still in the losing stage. I just wanted to reach out to you and offer a little encouragement and support. You've made a great first step and come to the right place to get some answers and understanding...Heaven knows most of us reading this forum have been on the weight roller coaster most of our lives so we do understand and empathize.
I'm sure someone else can give you insight on a revision but in the meantime you need to try to get your eating back on track...eating what you know you should and tracking everything you eat.
All the best...we'll be rooting for you! Kim
Sorry to hear about your struggles :( what kind of revision? Did you get a sleeve?

I think, if it was me, I would first try to figure out what went wrong. Am I eating too much? Too many carbs? Am I eating sugar?
What happened between year two and year four? What changed? Why did it change? Why did I let it change?
A revision is a possibility I suppose (I think you had RNY, just judging from your screen name "margrny") - but to what? And if you are able to revise, what will be different the second time?
Any surgery can be eaten around. I highly recommend planning, tracking, measuring your food. Get at least 75g of protein, no more than 30-40g carbohydrates per day, no sugar, etc. Back to basics.

I agree with Karen, I would also suggest going to support groups and reaching out to your WLC and getting help from them.
It sounds like one of the biggest basic you should start with is journaling. Journaling your food, activity, and emotions. When you do reach out to your WLC, doing that may help them help you. You may also notice some things on your own.
As well as the suggested amounts Karen gave you, set some little goals along the way. I find little goals are a lot easier than big ones to achieve. Your first goal should be to start journaling. Then do that for a bit without changing your diet/activities. Then for those two aspects, you can see what your next small goal should be. But definitely reach out to your centre, they can help you figure out what's happened.

Hi Marg,
Sorry to hear, sounds like you a feeling very stressed about this.
I'm not sure what your starting weight was, but I have been told at TWH that most people can expect to lose 60% of their excess weight long-term. They may lose more at the beginning, and then bounce back up to 60%. So if you started around 300lbs with a goal weight of 150lbs, if you reached 150lbs, you could reasonably bounce back up into the 200s. The point is, you are better off than before, and it's not uncommon.
Are there any support groups or therapists out there you can talk to?
Sorry, there is no diet that makes your pouch smaller, that's a silly myth thought up by the inventor of the "5 day pouch test". Physically impossible.
