And the Journey Begins..
Happy Saturday everyone,
Just wanted to drop in and see how everyone is doing. There isn't a day that I don't check out the site to see how everyone is doing or what is new and exciting.
Yesterday was my first visit with my surgeon Dr. Starr and I have to say that I am so pleased with this. He seems to be a very gentle spoken and funny man, which is very important to me as I love a sense of humour. I think we are going to get along fine.
They then sent me for blood work, and holy cow, they took 12 viles from me.. I was going to ask what they were testing for, but didn't...
Have my trio appts. July 21/15, and then Dr Glazer on Aug. 17/15, so I am hoping that this journey is going to move quickly for me.
I am getting so excited to join all of you on the losers bench, and I hope my journey goes as smootly as most of the ones I read about here.
Hope everyone has a great day...
P.S. - if someone could run me through how to add my appts. to the bottom of my messages, that would be great... Thank you in advance.

Congrats on your journey beginning!
My cousin also has Dr Starr. He seems like a super great man with a great sense of humour. She just met with the team this week and got the go from them all. She has been given a surgery date of November 23rd. Her journey started in August 2014 when her referral was sent in. So about 15 months.
I can't help you with putting the dates in your signature and I can't remember myself lol....having a DUH moment lol.

Been so long since I did it...I couldn't remember. And being on my cell, it's kind of a pain lol
It's good to hear that you feel confident about your doctor. I think that's really important for helping though this process. Reading through posts here, it seems like we have a lot of really skilled and caring surgeons in the province.
When I was first referred to the bariatric clinic, I had to do a bunch of blood work too. Ten vials. Even the phlebotomist commented on how much blood they were taking. I joked that I should have weighed myself before and after. I've had to do some follow up blood work since, to monitor vitamin B12 and D levels, but that has only needed a couple of vials.
Looks like you and I will be getting our surgeries around the same time by Dr. Starr. I haven't got my surgery date yet but I got for my trio appointments on June 1st and see Dr. Glazer on August 24th. I am so excited and I feel like my life is at a stand still until this surgery happens. Ughhhh hate the waiting.
