What are you eating/doing today (Friday)

I find turkey even more filling than chicken for some reason. Steak I could eat forever I think and even if it does fill me up, I am starving an hour later, have always been that way with steak.  Fish I can eat lots as well unless it's salmon or trout then I am only able to get 4 ounces max in.   I haven't posted in a few weeks as I have been out of town and not in very good control of what I was able to eat daily so no point in posting.  Didn't gain so guess I made decent choices.  Eating was all off with missing lunch most days then having a mid afternoon snack that was more like a lunch then passing on dinner and having a snack instead.  Trying to get my head back in it today to get back to my usual eating.

B - protein shake

S - activia with fibre(picked up the wrong ones but will finish them)

L - turkey salad made with red grapes, celery, onion, fresh herbs and toasted pecans on a slice of light rye, 1 oz extra old cheddar on the side

D - last of the hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings, froze the carcass and one breast, so will make turkey soup later this weekend.

Will have lots of coffee throughout the day and will make sure to have at least one cup of unsweetened coconut milk in them.  I hate taking calcium supplements so try to get as much in from food as I can and one cup is 30% of my intake.

Yes its so tough to eat right when you are out of your element.

Love the sound of your turkey salad.  I agree re turkey is as filling as chicken - not more so for me as I usually eat it with gravy  .

What do you use in your turkey salad to keep it all together?  or do you not worry about that?  I have a chicken salad recipe that calls for 0% greek yogurt - but I think I would actually prefer low calorie mayo as its less calories then the greek yogurt and I really dont worry about extra protein as I get lots in every day

I use a mix of mayo, greek yogurt and dijon mustard.  I like it tangy especially when I add in the sweet grapes.  It definitely needs something to hold it together.

I made killer gravy the day I roasted the turkey so had to make sure I limited myself to the amount I used.  I froze the rest of it and it will end up in the soup pot when I boil the carcass.

Gravy is like bacon - it makes everything better

Yes - I add Dijon to my chicken salad too - going to make it next time just with the low cal mayo to keep the carbs/calories down further...you know I'm always looking for an edge on calorie consumption

I'm not a big fan of mayo but like to use a bit with low fat yogurt.  I often just buy the regular low fat plain or no fat plain to use in stuff like this.  I just happened to have some plain greek so used it this time. I find mayo way too sweet on its own.

As you know I am also not a fan of sweet....mixing may be the ticket then...and its not like you use much anyway.

Good morning all. Tomorrow is our annual Daffodil Tea at the church. It is kind of fun. We have two ladies pouring tea out of silver tea pots and all tea served in fancy cups. Little plates of sandwiches with crust off and small baked goods. Completely not WLS friendly. In another room we will have a bake table and rummage stuff. So last night we previewed the items for sale since we are often the best customers for it. I picked up a cookbook for a woman I work with. We had been talking about the books from the restaurant Fresh. Well she was thrilled glad to make someone so happy for $.50. A guy I work with has no life and when he gets stressed he will walk for miles andmiles. I picked up this small book on parks in Toronto. It includes TTC direction if he wants to go there then walk. He is also thrilled. So started the day off feeling pretty good. Hope it lasts. The woman I gave the book to said she started the day with a massage and not got a book with just the recipe she had been looking for.

Tonight we are going to a beer festival. DH loves craft beers. I will probably be the dd since I really do not drink beer anymore. I find the carbonation just hurts. The food will be food trucks so not sure what I will be eating. It was listed as being in Sherbourne Commons. I didn't have a clue where this was. It is on the lake at the bottom of Sherbourne behind George Brown and Corus. I have a feeling it will be very cold. I am wearing my winter coat incase.

Swimming at lunch

I have some time to kill after work before meeting dh. I have been unable to get my hair cut. First because I hit my head and had an scab to heal the no time. Just have to figure out where!

b greek yogurt, cereal,
