Good morning :)

WOW to your steps yesterday, Barb! Beautiful day for golf.

I expected to sign in to OH this morning and see some pretty changes - I guess there were tech surprises along the way. lol A lot of "house stuff" to do today - cooking, laundry, cleaning, organizing... other domestic goddess duties as assigned. OH asked me to submit one of my recipes (along with photos, etc.) a long time ago (and I happily agreed) and then life got away from me and I sort of forgot 'til I got a friendly reminder. Oops. I generally don't take pics of my food, this should be interesting. I'm panicking over which plates, which bowl, etc. like a freak. ANYWAY, I'm rambling....

On a separate (sort of) topic, I saw an interview on the news this morning with Dr. Yoni Freedhoff and producer/director Michele Hozer regarding her new documentary "Sugar Coated" that chronicles the use of sugar, the health dangers to sugar, etc etc etc and I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT. It scientifically and anecdotally documents what I have believed and lived by for the past 9 years - SUGAR IS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH AND WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS.

It is playing the HotDocs in Toronto and I am going. More details to follow, I would love to have some of you join me.

9 years post-op

- coffee with cream x 4 over the day -

B - Premier protein shake

S - Greek yogurt, sprinkle of almonds, a few green grapes

L - scrambled egg, 3 slices bacon, sliced tomato

S - Chike protein iced coffee

D - small piece of lasagna (Andrew has been hinting about my lasagna for a few months, I am finally giving in lol) - I may skip the noodles, since the guts are the best part and I don't need the extra carbs, or I may not. I have a low carb day otherwise, see how I feel at the time

S - likely just tea or coffee

Have a great Sunday!

K.. :)

After much internal debate and second guessing (and yes, stressing over it ffs) I decided to KISS (keep it simple stupid) and do something fresh and summery - salsa fresca and parm chips. Boring, simple, but something I actually regularly eat as a WLS-friendly way of serving an appetizer with protein (parmesan) instead of carbs and grease (tortilla chips). I may change my mind. lol

Yeah, that was Andrews comment too - I have already had to hand-slap him out of the container since I made them yesterday lol

I wanted to see Sugar Coated, but can't make it as the only time I could go is the night after my marathon....and I will not be wanting to sit still in a theatre at that time LOL. We are a community sponsor of Hot Docs, so I get tickets. Let us know what you think!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
