Hi I am new on the bench as of tuesday i had my gastric Bypass surgery at Toronto western I got home yesterday so happy to be past it but feeling anxious about trying to get all the water and protein in. My question is is it ok to drink the premier protein shake and the water separetly and not worry about the half an hour rule when trying to get the liquids in. i hope this makes sense.
Best
Lisa
Yes, it is perfectly okay when on liquids/full fluids - just sip, sip, sip, repeat at this point.
Welcome to the bench :)

Hey Lisa,
Yes, tea is fine as long as it's decaf. And not really a set waiting period, it's up to you and how you feel. For myself I can eat my meal and then I'll let about 20 minutes pass and start getting some fluid in... It does take time so just listen to your body and you'll do better with each passing day. I am really focused on getting my protein in so my water/fluid usually comes at the end of the day after my meals.
Best of luck!
