Waking up at night with them is the worst. What a jolt. In the end I was bent over in the bathroom. So I massage the marea and put cold towels on it. It finally worked out.

I have also had the toes one. It is so weird.

OMG, I have never heard of anyone else who suffered with the extreme toe cramps.  They stick straight up and out, I can even put my foot flat, let alone walk. Brutal!

ETA: *can't even put my foot flat. Duh.

They are totally BRUTAL Karen! OMG. They're the absolute worst! I definitely hear ya on that! Putting my foot flat is impossible. Even STANDING on my painful foot/toes doesn't put them flat! It's terrible.

Toe cramps... ugh! Fingers crossed we both have reprieve from them for awhile!!!

All of the above suggestions are great.  I find occasionally I have to take a muscle relaxer to help....one with acetaminophen.

Thanks. I was looking for something to ease it as it happens. I think I will get some potassium to help.

I think maybe you should ask your pharmacist or doc before adding potassium via supplement - too low or too high = heart issues.

Thanks Karen, I wondered about that. I am always leery about added more vitamins. I know some can become toxic if we take too many. I need a blood test in July. I think I will wait and have it checked before jumping into more pills

Hot Showers Make Everything Better!!

It's from dehydration mostly with me.  I get these... terrible...excruciating... horrible spasms... pressing my foot to the ground used to work, but now I have to get in the hot shower.  Warm water helps the little ones instantly but keep in mind that the pain is not actually originating in your legs, knees, toes... sometimes mine feel like there is a creature under my knee cap wreaking havoc... warm water on your LOWER BACK and legs is the best and it helps even more if you just let the water run over you from shoulders down.  Sometimes I have to stay in a while before it quits "grabbing".  When I feel it start to grab, I can sometimes ward it off by standing immediately and walking heel to toe.  I will also wear leg warmers to bed if I've had them repeatedly over the week.

Thanks for the suggestions. It seemed to come on so fast then I was in so much pain I couldn't move. I think a shower after would have beena good idea. It left a lot of muscles sore.
