Need a Doctors Referral to Bariatric Registry. Kitchener ,ON

Hello Everyone,

My name is Sam. I am about 2 years out from surgery and it was the best decision of my life. I am 110lb down!

This post is for a family friend. He is looking to get into the program.

He is asking if anyone knows of a Doctor in the Kitchener,ON area that is more informed about the Bariatric Registry and see if he is a good candidate for the program.

He is willing to travel in surrounding areas, he would just like a Doctor that has been through the process before to ensure he is in good hands.

The referring doctor is not the one who will decide if he's right or fit for the program. First he needs a referral from a doctor or nurse practitioner. From there he will be sent to an orientation meeting and so on. He will be sent to a hospital based on his postal code, and he will not be able to pick who his surgeon is. The entire process takes about a year, give or take. Tell him that he can pick any doctor for the referral, it makes no difference in the long run. Grats on your success by the way! 

The new doctor's office on Boardwalk (Ira Needles)...Northfield @ The Boardwalk..this is my doctor's office and they've told me many times they've referred lots of patients to the Guelph Bariatric Clinic.  I'm pretty sure they're taking new patients too.
