So im supposed to be changing my eating habits but I struggle with what to have for snacks. My Centre wants one protein and one carb.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm also having trouble remembering to slow down when I eat so any suggestions for that would be great too.

Thanks!

I like banana slices with a dollop of peanut butter or apple slices with hummous. Cheese/pretzel crackers.

To slow down, try smaller cutlery.  Use a teaspoon instead of a soup spoon.  For things that you would use a teaspoon, try a baby spoon (works well with things like yogurt cups, applesauce cups etc).

As far as remembering to slow down, I'm over yr post op and I still struggle with slowing down.

I think the above poster, hit it on the nail with all their suggestions.

Also, for snacks, plain greek yogurt with some mashed up fruit in it.  After your surgery, it is important to get all your protein in so I find the greek yogurt ideal for this.  I also like the source yogurt, but it doesn't have as much protein in it but the green box is soooo yummy.

Low fat cheese is also a great snack or cottage cheese.  Unfortunately I can't tolerate either.

If in a pinch, I like the simply protein bars.  These are great to keep in your purse for when you need a snack and can't get some fresh fruit or refrigerated items.

Good Luck!
