Vitamins Post op

I am trying to get my vitamins organised for a couple of months post op.  I bought the centrum select for adults 50+ chewable tablets, and I have the B12 that melt under your tongue.  I was at Shoppers and could not find any chewable or liquid calcium citrate, only pills.  The person I asked to help me, was no help at all.  My question is, does anyone crush the calcium citrate tabs and mix them with some yogurt, or something? Or, melt them in some warm water and drink them?  Or is there something at Shoppers I just could not find, that you use?  I also have a Rexall in my town, that I could go to, I just prefer Shoppers, it is close to me, and my prescriptions are there.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

when i had my 1on1's a few weeks back the dietican in sudbury showed me a bottle of chewable calcium citrate that you can ask any pharmacy to order for you its behind the counter.  you just need to give them the number on the bottom of the bottle and they can order it in for you Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Thank you for the info and pic!  I am going to take the number and see if my Shoppers will order it for me.

I went to both, the Shoppers in my town and Rexall.  Both told me they could not order these calcium chewable.  I ended up with liquid from Rexall.  I don't care how it tastes, I will get it down...

I don't have a Costco card, or store in my town.  My sister in Ajax does, so I may get her to pick me up the liquid.  What is the brand name?   She already picked me up some Premier Protein drinks.  I think I will  try to get Shoppers to order the one in the above post for me. I may even get some of both to try. Thanks!

My nurse practitioner recommended the Jamieson calcium chews. I have to take 3 per day. The chocolate ones are pretty good. I like to put them in the fridge. They taste kinda like a tootsie roll. Chris

Thanks Chris, I did look at some of the chews, but the ones I looked at were calcium carbonate, not citrate.

I may look again next time I go there.

My container says "high absorption calcium is a complex of carbonate, citrate, malate, fumarate, succinate sources" I'll have to wait and see what my first blood tests show in a couple months. Guess that's the only way to know for sure. That and going back to school to become a psychiatrist. LOL. Best of luck. Chris

she told me any pharmacy should be able to order it.  They wont stock regularly on the shelf but if you ask them to order 2-4 bottles at a time they'll call you when it comes in to pick it up.  No frills has ordered it for me where i live and a friend got a local random pharmacy to order it for her.
