Any ideas to help with face/neck?
I am pre op so cannot say that this works. I worry about this happening. I feel like I have a pretty face, a fat face but pretty none the less. I don't wear makeup ever and rarely do anything fancy to it like facials or whatnot. I did look into things I could do to avoid sagging and turkey neck. I totally believe that in time things will even out and shift and what not but I have read that botox can help keep everything in place while the shifting and evening out happens.
I don't know if I'll ever try it (lets get through surgery first) but it's something I might look into further if I don't like what I see in the mirror. I won't post any links, just google it if you're interested in the idea.
Both these products below I used before and after surgery I also do not dry my face with a towel I let my face dry on its own that way the water helps the skin.
For puffiness under my eyes I use Garnier skin renew Anti-puff eye roller. I also use avon day cream/firmer cream on my face and neck and when applying make sure to go in a upward and outward motion I find it helps.
Coconut oil, vaseline is also good for overnight.

I am going to have to check out the Garnier, I really like their 3-in-1 cleanser/exfoliator/mask, so maybe I would like the anti-puff thing. It is worth a shot, I wear glasses normally but when I remove them holy cow! It looks like I am unwell, it is so dark and puffy. I heard that hemorrhoid cream can also help. I have heard that its normal to have this for the first 6 months or so, so maybe it will get batter at a year or longer? I really hope so.
Now, I totally understand how you feel and honestly I feel I look older, but the funny thing is EVERYONE and I mean everyone tells me I look ten years younger now. Weird I know. I am sure it has a lot to do with how we carry ourselves now that we have lost so much weight. We feel amazing too right? And clothing, well, my cupboard is full of new clothes!
Yes, I have wrinkles and dark circles under my eyes (low iron levels?) and my neck, eyes, shesh, everywhere really. I thought I would care more as I got older about wrinkles (I just turned 53 last week) but, I haven't worried or cared one tiny bit.
If you wanna talk about my batwings or thighs ( I had my tummy tuck late November) well I am in, I GET it. I couldn't live with my spare skin on my tummy (arms are next, scheduled in September). But that's just me.
As you continue on your journey you may find your looks changing even more. It's ALL amazing. Your health is getting better, your adding years to your life. Look in your mirror, I KNOW your beautiful, make sure you know it too! Oh and I guess I should add, I have found nothing in a jar or bottle that will help me. Retinol stuff, way to strong for my skin.
Hugs
Annette
I really love your attitude and I hope to feel the same in the future. Right now I feel shocked when I look in the mirror, I just look so different. Maybe I need to spend more time in front of the mirror so I get used to how I look? I did that when I gained weight and it helped me to accept my body changes, so I guess it would make sense to do the same now.
I hear you about clothes, I like shopping now, before it was a nightmare because I was hard to fit and because I did not have the energy or mobility to shop for long. I had bloodwork done last month and everything including iron was normal, so I don't know why the dark circles. My arms and tummy are not wrinkly yet but my thighs are very wrinkly, and it bums me out because I have super strong legs from weigh lifting but the loose skin takes away from that.
Anyhow, thank for your reply, I really appreciate it and agree with you about the health benefits making it all worth it.
Hi Zizzler I second NorthernStar's recommendation for Paula's Choice products. They can be a bit pricey, but there is often sales. Also, they have a 60 day return policy no questions asked. I have lost 48 pounds since starting opti on Jan 16th and my former double chin is now flapping in the wind and I hate it. But I am sooo happy I had this surgery and would not change it for the world. I have been using Paula's Choice and Olay Total Effects 7 signs of aging cream.

I'm 48 and nobody believes it. My secret is lots and lots of water to keep the skin hydrated from within. I just use regular moisturizer, no retinol for me. I can't use any anti-aging products as my skin is too sensitive. I tried it and it burned the hell out of my skin even at a low amount and it made me look older. All you can do is try different products for the outside bu****er is still the best to keep it hydrated.
