What are you eating/doing today ( Monday)

If it didn't let up, I was heading to emerg. The difference in this pain and my bowel obstruction pain was level 7/10 versus 10+/10 during my obstruction. And I had a lot of bowel sounds last night, and zero bowel sounds when I obstructed. I will give them a call if I don't feel better and tolerate food again. I really do think it was gas, but why so bad?

maybe it was the whole week leading up to it? I fell of the wagon a lot this past week....who knows?

I wonder about the running and gastric juices. I asked previously if there was any connection between my bowel obstruction and running (it happened three weeks after my marathon....and interestingly enough, this happened one week after the Around the Bay race). Hmmmm (ps - they said no)

I wonder if it was a combination of all of the above and something set if off in your gut as "the last straw" or something. I'd be avoiding the leftovers.

I think you're right. I'm reading about "healthy carb-loading" Quinoa and oatmeal seem to be favourites. Marathon is in four weeks. A month to figure it out :)

I fell for you. I know the pain this can cause. At least you didn't black out like me. I think my body is just a winp and couldn't take it. I am pretty sure what caused mine. I hope you can figure out yours.

I took one tiny bite of a cheese cake my dh bought last night. It had gum additives that I know I do not tolerate and later I did pay for it. Thankfully only mildly

I thought of you during it. I didn't pass out at my sister-in-law's, but I was on the couch in another room and fell asleep at one point. I'm sure I just fell asleep, but I jerked awake in shock! I didn't even remember closing my eyes. So weird.

Birdiegirl enjoy your last week in the nice weather, your menu sounds yummy.  Karen, I hear you about projects that never end, it can be trying for sure. Kelly sorry to hear about the pain you are having, hope you figure out what is causing it soon.

Today is my last day of freedom, back to work tomorrow (blah).  My spring cleaning is not progressing as I had hoped and I am feeling pretty overwhelmed.  You would think now that I have more mobility that it would be easier, and it is physically, its my brain that just wants to relax, watch a movie, procrastinate. I have to bribe myself to get anything done, like promise myself an hour of tv if I finish a certain task. And even that does not always work.

I managed to survive easter dinner without too much damage, which is good. Only things I had that were off plan were a few of those mini chocolate eggs and a sliver of chocolate cake.  I did not bring any junk home with me, gave away all the chocolates and candies to my family. Pretty proud of myself for that one. lol

I have started sleeping without my cpap machine this weekend and it has been weird.  I am so used to having that thing on my face that it is hard for my brain to realize it is time to sleep.  Nothing huge planned for today, just cleaning and the gym if it is open.

7 months post-op

b - premier protein shake

s - sf pink lemonade Dasani, later...peaches packed in water

l - low carb pizza slice with just cheese, tomatoes, garlic, and onions on top, no meat.  I use low fat cheese so it comes out to about 180 calories per slice versus the full fat and pepperoni/sausage in the recipe. And the slices are super filling too, so most likely I will not be able to fini**** This will be my first time making this pizza post-op.

s - celery stick with greek yogurt dip

d - another slice of low carb pizza

s - lf swiss cheese microwave "chips" with greek yogurt dip

all water and vits

Thanks, if you do let me know what you think.  It was a favourite pre-op so hopefully my pouch will approve.  The nice thing is that it is self-limiting because its so filling.
