What size clothes do you wear....
Love this post! (we need a "like" button)
I have always gone by how clothes fit rather than a # on the scale. Muscle weighs more too - so the # on the scale can be deceiving.
Keep up the great work ladies. Thrilled for you. I can't imagine being a single digit size. Blows my mind.
Make it a good day!

I am a smidget under 5'8" and wear a 10/12 bottom, a S/M top (I guess I have more junk in the trunk!). My bra size is a 34B now.
I'd like to be an 8 I think, I'm still working on it. This is a good question and size/measurements is sometimes a better indicator than weight. I was this *exact same* weight when I was in high school but I wore an 18 bottom and an XL/1X top. If I compare pictures of myself now to then, I can see I am much smaller. But the weight is the same!

Isn't it weird. I had this formal dress from a University Ball (twenty years ago) and kept it as a souvenir and tried it on recently and it fits perfectly. It says it is a size 16 - I think it is made really small. I know I am smaller in terms of clothes size now vs then, but then this one dress fits the same...I guess my chest size remained the same which allows it to fit. Can only lose so much on the chest I guess :)

I wear anything from 2-6. Even some xxs, which is very bizarre. But it really depends on the material, and were it's from. The Gap's sizing is big. I wear a 2-4 there. And yet Banana Republic (same company), I wear a 4-6 (dress pants). I have a few size 0 skirts, because my waist is small (I don't count that in my sizes though lol).
On top I wear xs- small. Sometimes a medium if the girls don't fit in things. But I happily ask for a small for all my races, and they always fit. That is something I love!
PS - I'm short, and can wear girl's sized clothing.

Wow, I do not think I could ever fit into XXS or to be honest a size 4. Maybe a size 6, that would be probably the smallest. At a size 8 now you can see all my ribs defined. Maybe if I get a breast reduction in the future I can fit into a 6.
I have never seen a zero...only heard about it :)
Only skirts...one stretchy, one not. The rest of my skirts are bigger. It's still hilarious to see the size, but I am not a size 0. A small and a 4 is where I am right now. That could change. And it probably will. Up or down, who knows?

My answer from a discussion on this board on Sunday:
Yes, it's called "vanity sizing". Over the years the "average" size for people in general has increased and thus the fashion industry has followed suit and adjusted their sizing to match. A 4 of today is certainly not a 4 of years ago - much larger.
Some clothing brands are extremely generous even with taking the vanity sizing into consideration. I can't even purchase pants at Mark's Work Warehouse, just as an example - they go as low as size 2, which are too big for me. A 2 in many other brands fit me and if I shop still others, I wear a 0 or up to an 8. It's nonsensical and the variance between brands makes it completely impossible to know what size to buy.
My point is this: I am 120 pounds at 5'3" tall. I find it extremely interesting that someone who weighs 10, 20, 30, 40 pounds more than I, might wear the same size. In number on the label maybe.

This is very true. I think that it's interesting that I can wear the same clothes 10 pounds heavier. Just a different fit. I'm glad of it, because my weight juggles up and down, as my body constantly changes.
It is all vanity sizing for sure. The Gap is the worst (or best, depending on how you look at it). As long as it fits, I wear it. I do remember getting excited at sizing, now i'm sometimes flabbergasted at it (like, a size 0 skirt? I mean really...But I have seen 00 and xxxs...I just don't get it.) I usually grab three sizes, and whatever fits best is what I go with.
But, with that said. I do remember how much fun it was getting into the smaller sizes. I was happy to be out of 20's and then out of the teens. Never thought I would see less than 12.

I find it very interesting how the sizing works now. So funny you mentioned this Karen as I just bought a jacket from Danier Leather in a small and I noticed there was xxs and I then started to question the sizing and said to my spouse that I think they have shifted there sizing for client vanity purchases because the small is more like a medium to me...I think the clothing manufacturers have started lying to us...a big conspiracy...my spouse thinks I am nuts but I truly believe sizes have changed over the years. I should note my vanity makes me happy they have :)
I noted above about the size 16 dress from University which is more like a 13 because when I bought it I wore size 13. This dress not fits a little big but still fits and I now take a 10 dress. hmmm makes you ponder...
Yup, that's exactly what I was referring to. I saw a fantastic advertisement from Layne Bryant (American plus-sized store) from the 50's last week and the woman in the ad was TINY - made me shake my head at how things have changed over the years. Oh, and they called her "stout" - cracked me right up. Stout is up there with "portly" and "pleasantly plump" as my fav old-time ways to call someone fat. LOL
I'll have to see if I can find that ad........
Edit: Found it - check this out!
Now I ask you, does that woman look "plus sized" to you??
No, me neither. :/
