Time of work vs. how much time you actually needed...
I say take as much time as you can. It's not just about rest and healing, but also dedicating the time to taking care of yourself and learning your new lifestyle. It is nice to have the time to look up new foods/recipes, shop, check all your stats, meal prep, etc.
I took 5 weeks and returned on gradual my 6th week; I was back full time by my 7th week. I would have taken another week if I could have, but I had a hard time coming down from the anaesthetic and was very tired. Others have more energy sooner after surgery.

I'm in week 3 of 4 being off work since surgery. I don't think I could last a full day at work now...or even a half day. I feel okay at home doing stuff around the house but just running out for errands or my little walks is tiring. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I kinda wish I had taken the doctor up on the offer of 6 weeks.

Holy Smokes! I've lost 100 pounds from my heaviest weight! Yay me!!!
I'm on my last day of 4 weeks off. I return to work tomorrow and I feel ready. I feel good. Week 1 I wasn't so confident about only 4 weeks off but each day got better and in the end it was enough time off for me :-)

It depends on a whole lot of things. What your job is. How are you healing. If you need Doc. note to go back to work and if they will give it to you. I felt great wanted to go back and the Doc would not give it to me until I was home for 6 weeks. Once my 6 weeks were up I was able to get that Doctor note and go back.
Like everyone has said it all depends on your job. I took 1 week, I felt good and I have a part-time desk job. If you have to walk a lot, stand all Day, lift heavy item and so on. Then you will definitely need more time off. I felt tired only when I had to do my banking. It wasn't a long walk (1 1/2 blocks) but I felt winded, other than that I felt good.

Why? Healing time is the same for both surgeries. In fact, I know some people who needed four weeks recovery time.
