Agree with all those who said not to worry about BMI. If you look up the history or BMI, it was based on a group of white European men in the 1800s. Hardly fair to compare to modern surgery patients (who neither live in 1890 nor are exclusively men!). The sooner the medical community stops evaluating health based on BMI, the better.
Go go with how you feel, and with a lifestyle that you can maintain :).
Pre-op was 336lb, Pre-surgery 328 (May 2012). Post -op lowest was 167lbs at (May 2013). Pregnant, breastfeeding kept me low but as soon as I stopped, bounced up to 197lb. Because I hadn't quit the carbs or adjusted food quick enough. Now I want to lose 15lbs. Ideally will sit at 180 (found I was too gaunt at 167. And body shape has stayed the same (have kept some kind of spare tire. No regrets! Working on fitness now! Big difference between fit and thin!!
I had my RNY 6.5 years ago and have lost 200 pounds (from 340 to 140). I have gained 10 pounds twice, but I lost it both times and now I never let it get 3 pounds above my goal weight. My BMI went from 53 to 22. I am 5'7" tall and 48 years old.

I have gained about 6/7 pounds in the last year. I am about 2.5 years post op and I was 132 at my lowest and have now settled 138/139. Anytime I see 140 I nip it in the bud and get back on the bandwagon.. Although, that rarely happens... I seem to have no trouble (so far) with maintaining this weight.. I am content with my current weight.. I wasn't comfortable at 132! GO figure.. I felt too skinny :/
