Gall Stones- but no symptoms
And it's interesting how like a really long contraction, it's just BAM, over. My longest was 12 hours, surgeon said it can last usually only 8 hours. But even 8 hours is too damn long to be in agony!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
I spoke to my Dr. yesterday. We both decided that if I have a second attack, that will be enough to warrant taking her out. Fingers crossed. I totally thought I was having a heart attack the last time it happened. I was ready to call 911, when it just stopped and I wondered if I was losing my mind. I remember my mother being just a mess during her gall bladder attacks. She waited way too long to get it out. I will not be that brave!
No need to be brave and wait. It's just plain awful.

I had only two attacks, and at the second one they took it out on an emergency basis. My neighbor took me to the hospital, and I was basically giving her my last will and testament verbally on the way there, I was certain I was dying! After I had it out, I read up on it, and one of the symptoms I wasn't aware of (but had) was a pain in my back just inside my shoulderblade, I think it was the left one (it was a long time ago!). I was always asking my husband to rub it, but that never did any good. I do remember the pain, it was horrible - good luck to you, I hope it never comes back!!
If you are given the option to remove... do so! I've lived through hell with my gullstone issues. And they were completely 'silent' (no symptoms what so ever after a random attack that landed me in the ER) .... then suddenly a few years later an attack that rocked my world. Landed in the hospital for pain management... released and was given no surgery date. It was so bad that a stone lodged into my liver duct and I couldn't even drink water without pain! I was stuck going to the hospital for a IV hydration and was so weak by the time I got a surgery date that I had to be pushed down on a wheel chair. It was the most miserable 6 months ever and if I had been given the choice to have it removed wayyyy back when I had my first attack I totally would have in a heart beat. Ugh... now i'm all itchy just remembering the liver issues that came when the stone was stuck in the liver duct! lol.
Take care! And I hope your's never get to an urgent care matter!
