Stall or not to stall
on 3/18/15 9:54 am - Canada
Hi,
I am 11 months post op and I have come to realise that stalls are normal and have finally concluded that the weight loss will move when my body is ready. I have not changed diet or anything in two months and in the last two weeks my weight started dropping again for no reason - 163 to 160 now 158!!!!
Just thought I would post this for everyone else experiencing stalls.
If you are following a healthy diet and exercise, I have come to realise not to worry it will move when it is time - at least @ 11months post op or earlier.

Congrats on reaching 100 lbs lost!
Hi Kelly
Congratulations on your success, way to rock this!! What worked for me when I would get frustrated with stalls while I was losing weight was to remind myself that it is just simple math at the end of the day. I had this formula stuck to the side of my fridge so I would read it when I needed a reminder.
3,500 calories equals about 1 pound (0.45 kilogram) of fat, you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound. So if you cut 500 calories from your typical diet each day, you'd lose about 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories).
Awsome to read that you are not stressing out over the scale. You are right when you say the number will move when your body is ready.
In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

thk you for the formula that helps and I will also make note of it
The stalls really suck. I had the three week stall, three month stall and now on a stall that is into the 3rd week coming onto my 5 month. The inches keep coming off but the scale doesn't move. It does get frustrating but its all seems to be apart of the process. I do like the big drop you get when the stall decides that it is over. I am down 95lbs though at 5 months so the stalls can keep happening as long as my progress keeps moving forward like it has...
