Congratulations and welcome! Finally after all that waiting, it's behind you! Take it easy; don't worry about weight or calories or anything like that. Just follow your instructions. Sip lots of water and drink your protein. I wish you a very speedy recovery:)

Carole♫♪ Welcome ♫♪♪ To ♫♫♪ The ♫♪ Bench♫♪!!!

I guess the best advise in the beginning is to walk walk sip sip etc. Once you start eating remember to do the protein first. I know you have probably head this a ton of times but it is so important. Follow what you think is right because we are always the best judge of what is right for ourselves. You will read a lot of information on the internet but if you follow your inner voice you will not be steered wrong. Follow the rules from your weight loss clinic. Keep a journal and journal your food entries... this a key.

Some days you may slip up and have that piece of cake or that bowl of potato chip or whatever it is that temps you. if I can only offer up this one thing it will be this. Food is just a calories. Your body doesn't know a chip from a grape, yes health wise one is better than the other but at the end of the day they have calorie associated with them.  Look at it as a simple calorie. its all math. Calories in verses calories burned. If you stay within the 1200 cal per day for example no matter what you will lose weight. I am not suggesting eating potato chips however haha. This whole thing clicked with me when I realized one day that my body doesn't know the difference of what I was consuming, it does from a health perspective but not in terms of the math associated with the food we eat. I hope this makes sense to you. To many times in the past when dieting I would throw in the towel because I thought I messed up a diet by eating the wrong thing but when I realized it was just a calorie I stopped beating myself up.

Should you slip--stand up, brush yourself off and carry on. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Slipping up doesn't mean you "fail" it simply means you made one wrong choice or perhaps not the "best choice".

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. I wish you nothing but the best. You will rock this.

Ann
