I read somewhere on here that one surgeon in Hamilton puts his patients on Bariatric Fusion which is cheaper. Anyone else?

Have never seen anybody put on that specific one.  Some were put on Diabetic Boost with Beneprotein mixed in but that was only because they were allergic to something in Optifast and don't think it really worked out to being cheaper.  I personally didn't find Optifast all that expensive at $100/week when I would have easily spent that on groceries, take out, junk food, etc alone just for myself.

I have never heard that, no. Funny, I didn't know Bariatric Fusion made anything other than expensive vitamins. Their product description says "POST-surgery shake", so I'm not sure it would be appropriate. Perhaps there is confusion and whomever posted that was actually referring to vitamins? Apparently I'm of no help at all. :)

I had to order my Optifast from Medical Mart and the cost was $159.60 for two weeks which works out to $11.40/day.  While I waited for it come in, I had to drink Boost Diabetic with extra protein that I had to purchase and the cost was $7.22 PLUS the cost of the protein.  The difference in price once all said and done is not that significant.  If we are prescribed Optifast, it's for a good reason.

We all know going into this about the costs, if its too difficult maybe that's a decision u need to consider before you want this surgery as there are reasons we are prescribed Optifast  in Orientation.

I had an alternative because I'm lactose intolerant.  Carnation Instant Breakfast, Beneprotein and lactose free skim milk. It worked out to be almost exactly the same price.
